What I Learned from Puppy Sitting

Posted on: November 20, 2011

I recently took care of a friend’s puppy while she was out of town.  Little Opal is about 5 lbs of pure energy and love that is not quite house trained.   We had a great week together and she was a true mentor for me.   Here are some of the things I learned from her:

  • Sometimes you’ve just got to run and jump with pure joy
  • You can get away with anything by looking sorry and flashing big puppy dog eyes
  • Humans need to forget their schedules and just go with the flow
  • It’s important to stay healthy by going for 20 walks a day
  • You can bring joy to others by letting them love and pet you
  • Cats only think they rule the world
  • You can never have too many toys or friends
  • When chasing leaves, you have to let go of the one in your mouth to pick up a better one
